Chanel Alterationist position in Singapore: luxury garment specialist needed for Ready-to-Wear alterations and bespoke tailoring services.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality alterations and garment modifications aligned with Chanel standards, respecting original construction, proportions, and design intent
- Interpret alteration briefs accurately and execute work rigorously, ensuring flawless finishing and presentation
- Repair or replace garment components while maintaining the integrity and elegance of each piece
- Deliver alterations within agreed lead times while maintaining the highest quality standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure optimal workshop readiness
- Collaborate closely with Fitting Specialists, Fashion Advisors, Style Experts, and boutique teams at every stage of the alteration journey
- Participate in boutique meetings and trainings, particularly those focused on Ready-to-Wear excellence
- Support peers during peak periods and actively share knowledge and best practices with the team
- Comply with all procedures, documentation, planning, and back-of-house operational requirements
- Contribute directly to client satisfaction through precision, consistency, and superior craftsmanship
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional tailoring and garment construction experience
- Prior experience within an international fashion house (strongly preferred)
- Advanced expertise in garment alterations, fit analysis, and construction techniques
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and execute complex alteration specifications
- Proficiency in maintaining and working with professional tailoring tools and equipment
- Strong understanding of fabric properties, garment composition, and restoration techniques
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant tailoring and garment construction experience in a professional setting. Prior experience within an international fashion house is a strong advantage, as it demonstrates familiarity with luxury standards, brand heritage, and operational expectations. Candidates should display proven expertise in executing complex alterations while maintaining the integrity of high-end garments.
Education
Formal training in tailoring, garment construction, or fashion technology is preferred. Professional certification or apprenticeship completion in tailoring or haute couture finishing techniques is advantageous.
