Chanel in Paris seeks a Responsable Comptabilité Clients (Accounts Receivable Manager) to lead AR accounting, collections and reporting.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable function, including invoicing, cash application, aging analysis and customer account reconciliations.
- Lead, coach and develop a small AR team; allocate workload and ensure accurate, timely delivery of month-end close activities.
- Oversee credit control and collections strategies to optimise cash flow and minimise credit risk while preserving client relationships.
- Prepare and deliver regular AR KPIs, cash forecasts and analytical reporting to Finance leadership and commercial stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with French GAAP and group accounting policies and supporting external and internal audits.
- Collaborate with Sales, Treasury, Legal and IT on contract terms, dispute resolution, process improvements and ERP (SAP) projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline billing, dispute management and settlement processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent; advanced accounting qualification desirable.
- Proven experience in accounts receivable accounting and credit control, with demonstrated team leadership.
- Strong technical understanding of accounting standards (French GAAP and familiarity with IFRS) and month‑end close procedures.
- Experience with ERP systems for finance, ideally SAP FI-AR; advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a customer-oriented mindset and high professional discretion.

Experience
Typically 5+ years in accounts receivable or general accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team‑lead capacity; prior exposure to retail, luxury goods or consumer goods finance is strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; professional accounting qualifications (e.g., DSCG, ACCA, CPA) are advantageous.
