Chanel in Candiac, Canada is hiring an Accounts Payable Associate to manage invoice processing, vendor reconciliation and payments.
Role & Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding, approval routing and timely posting to the accounts payable ledger.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation, and investigate and resolve discrepancies with procurement and suppliers.
- Prepare and execute supplier payments (EFT, wire transfers, cheques) in accordance with payment calendars and internal controls.
- Reconcile vendor accounts and statements; clear outstanding items and manage vendor inquiries and escalations.
- Support month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including accruals, cut-off testing and balance confirmations.
- Maintain AP documentation and electronic filing to support audit readiness and compliance with internal policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and automation initiatives for invoice processing and payment workflows.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis of payables metrics to support treasury and finance stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in accounting, finance or a related discipline; college/CEGEP or university-level credential preferred.
- Minimum two years of progressive accounts payable or general accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of accounts payable controls, invoice matching, payment processing and month‑end routines.
- Strong analytical aptitude and attention to numerical accuracy.
- Professional integrity and capacity to manage confidential financial information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with procurement, treasury and external vendors in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
Experience
At least 2 years of hands-on accounts payable or general accounting experience, preferably within a multinational retail or luxury-goods environment. Demonstrated experience with payment cycles, vendor management and month-end close is required.
Education
Diploma or certificate in accounting, finance or related field; post-secondary credential (college/CEGEP or university) preferred.
