Chanel in Copenhagen seeks an Accounts Payable Accountant to manage supplier invoicing, payments and month-end reconciliation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes: receive, code and post supplier invoices and expense claims in the ERP.
- Prepare, schedule and execute supplier payments (bank transfers, SEPA) and maintain detailed payment records.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies through direct vendor liaison and procurement coordination.
- Perform month-end AP close activities, accruals and deliver accurate balances for financial reporting.
- Maintain AP ageing, monitor cash requirements and support treasury with payment forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with local VAT, withholding tax and statutory reporting requirements; prepare supporting documentation for audits.
- Identify and drive process improvements, enforce internal controls and support system implementations or upgrades.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) or partial progress desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong working knowledge of Danish VAT and local tax/reporting practices preferred.
- High level of numeracy, attention to detail and proven ability to work to strict deadlines.
Skills
Experience
Typically 3+ years of progressive accounts payable or general ledger experience, preferably within a multinational or retail/luxury environment; demonstrated exposure to ERP systems and cross-border supplier payments is expected.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline (or equivalent professional qualification).
