Chanel is hiring an Accounts Payable Accountant (1-Year Contract) in Bangkok — responsible for invoice processing, payments and supplier reconciliations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Process and validate supplier invoices, credit notes and expense claims in accordance with internal controls and contractual terms.
- Prepare and execute payment runs (domestic and international), ensuring timely settlement and accurate bank instructions.
- Perform regular supplier reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Manage AP ledger postings and maintain GR/IR accounts to support month-end closing activities.
- Ensure withholding tax, VAT and local tax treatments are applied correctly and filings are supported by appropriate documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, supporting documents and explanations for AP balances.
- Collaborate with procurement, stores and operations to verify invoice accuracy, PO matching and dispute resolution.
- Contribute to process improvements and adherence to AP policies, including onboarding of new suppliers and system enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ demonstrable experience in accounts payable or general accounting; experience within retail or luxury goods is advantageous.
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and ability to prioritise high-volume transactions.
- Working knowledge of local tax and withholding procedures relevant to vendor payments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and experience using ERP/accounting systems.
- High standards of confidentiality and professional discretion when handling supplier and financial information.

Experience
At least 2 years of hands-on accounts payable experience, preferably within a multinational, retail or luxury environment, including month-end closing and reconciliations.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
