Chanel in Paris seeks an Accounting Apprentice (Alternance) for General Accounting & Real Estate — alternance position in corporate finance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the general ledger accounting team with day-to-day bookkeeping and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and timely posting.
- Assist with fixed asset and real estate accounting: register acquisitions, disposals, depreciation schedules and reconciliations for property portfolios.
- Contribute to month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including account reconciliations, accruals and analysis of balance sheet movements.
- Process and control supplier invoices, lease charges and intercompany accounting related to corporate real estate.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, supporting schedules and audit files to ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external property managers to collect data and clarify accounting treatments for real estate operations.
- Participate in ad-hoc finance projects and continuous-improvement initiatives, including process standardization and system-related tasks.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent (alternance format).
- Strong numerical aptitude, attention to detail and a rigorous approach to reconciliations and accounting controls.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines during monthly close cycles.
- Capacity to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external vendors, maintaining confidentiality.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn technical accounting standards and company-specific procedures.
