Chanel is hiring an Accountant in Copenhagen — responsible for month‑end close, reconciliations and financial reporting for the Denmark entity.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day general ledger accounting including journal entries, accruals and month‑end close tasks for the Denmark entity.
- Prepare and review account reconciliations (bank, intercompany, AP/AR) and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items.
- Produce monthly, quarterly and ad‑hoc financial reports to support business controllers and the regional finance team.
- Manage VAT, payroll liaison and local statutory reporting in coordination with external advisors and local stakeholders.
- Support intercompany charging, transfer pricing documentation and reconciliations with group entities.
- Act as local contact for external and internal audits; prepare schedules and respond to audit queries.
- Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies and process documentation in line with group standards.
- Collaborate with commercial, retail and logistics teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and inventory accounting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent; professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multinational or luxury retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) and familiarity with local Danish statutory requirements.
- Proven experience with month‑end close, reconciliations and audit processes.
- High level of accuracy, strong analytical skills and attention to internal control frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with cross‑functional and international teams.

Experience
Minimum three years of accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of general ledger and month‑end close processes; prior exposure to multinational reporting, audits and cross‑border intercompany accounting is preferred.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; professional accounting certification preferred.
