Domaine Chandon seeks Senior QHSE Manager in Yountville, CA. Lead quality, health, safety, and environmental operations across wine production and DTC channels.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead safety committee and drive organization-wide health and safety initiatives, including development and maintenance of comprehensive training programs and new hire orientation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal OSHA, and all applicable regulatory standards; lead ISO 45001 certification and management of the Integrated Management System for safety
- Foster a positive safety culture through open communication and proactive hazard reporting; manage contractor safety program and vendor relationships
- Respond to critical incidents and site risks to ensure achievement of safety goals
- Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) and Integrated Management System (IMS) with focus on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 compliance
- Lead Quality Management Review (QMR) meetings and coordinate across safety and environmental functions; recommend improvements and implementation strategies to management
- Manage quality assurance operations from vineyard through finished goods shipment, including conduct of internal audits at facilities and contract manufacturer locations
- Oversee supplier quality management and ensure regulatory compliance in supplier selection, control, and monitoring
- Mentor Quality Supervisor and Technician; lead root cause and corrective action investigations for customer complaints
- Assign and oversee daily production quality audits on tirage, disgorging, labeling, and bottling processes; manage incoming inspections and finished product inspections
- Lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives including Napa Green Winery Certification; establish annual environmental and energy objectives
- Chair sustainability committee overseeing soils, water, packaging, waste, energy, carbon footprint, and corporate social responsibility initiatives
- Develop and implement continuous improvement methodologies including 5S, Six Sigma, and Lean Management practices
- Manage QHSE budget and expenditure
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of quality and environmental experience in industrial operations
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful QA strategies and quality management systems
- Several successful ISO implementations and management experience
- In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and other industry-specific regulations
- Strong understanding of quality methodologies, tools, and processes including Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, and SPC
- Knowledge of Product Quality Assurance analyses and methodology
- Knowledge of food industry processes and application of dry goods materials to containers
- Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of quality and environmental experience in industrial operations. Winery experience preferred but not mandatory. Demonstrated success in multiple ISO implementations and management of cross-functional teams. Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive quality assurance strategies while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
