Chandon seeks Maintenance and Engineering Manager in Yountville, California—lead facilities operations, safety, and vendor management for a luxury wine estate.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs utilizing an on-site team and contracted service providers to minimize downtime and optimize asset performance
  • Develop and maintain a facilities-wide preventive maintenance asset-care program emphasizing customer service and reducing reactive work
  • Manage repair request systems with timely response, stakeholder alignment, and continuous CMMS (eMaint) updating for comprehensive recordkeeping and project tracking
  • Establish and oversee escalation processes for urgent maintenance repairs and respond to critical incidents as required
  • Coordinate weekly maintenance priorities with department stakeholders to ensure alignment with facility needs and operational objectives
  • Assess, supervise, and coordinate work performed by outside vendors to maintain and repair facility infrastructure in compliance with company standards
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) for service providers to evaluate performance and ensure accountability
  • Demonstrate active and visible leadership in safety, environment, energy, quality, and food safety by fostering a strong safety culture and compliance commitment
  • Lead job hazard risk analyses and identify potential safety concerns for maintenance teams—both internal and external—ensuring thorough resolution
  • Implement and comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS) across all maintenance operations
  • Ensure federal, state, and county compliance requirements are met through the Internal Control process and relevant permitting
  • Develop and instill a team-oriented culture of positivity and engagement across the maintenance department and with outsourced service providers
  • Empower team members to seek improvement opportunities through training, weekly team communications, near-miss and incident reporting, root cause investigations, and corrective actions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the wine industry
  • At least 3 years of team leadership or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of safe production practices and equipment safety procedures
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and 5S methodologies
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical, mechanical, or refrigeration systems
  • Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as SAP
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software including eMaint
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Microsoft packages

Strong background in identifying and resolving operational challenges through data-driven problem-solving and proactive communication.

Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field (such as mechanical engineering, facilities management, operations management, or a similar discipline) is preferred.
