Céline Team Manager position at Saks Fifth Avenue New York—lead retail operations, manage client advisors, and drive luxury retail excellence.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Client Advisors; develop and coach staff through goal setting and regular individual and team meetings
- Build a growth environment through daily coaching, weekly pulse checks, monthly reviews, and the internal objectives platform (RISE)
- Ensure direct reports maintain a strategic, results-focused mindset with consistent KPI achievement
- Lead succession planning by training and developing support personnel
- Recruit candidates for all team levels meeting company standards
- Supervise team and implement company policies with appropriate disciplinary procedures
- Onboard and train new hires to deliver exceptional client service and drive sales and system usage
- Identify training needs and create regular training programs with written reports to Training Manager and Store Manager
- Meet sales goals set by the Regional Director of Stores
- Lead and empower the sales team to achieve maximum sales results
- Coordinate the use of client relationship resources to provide personalized client assistance
- Manage floor supervision to improve sales performance
- Develop events and incentives to grow the client base and build local market presence
- Maintain the highest degree of client service daily
- Support management in building a repeat business and prospecting mindset with an appointment-based business model
- Collaborate with Store Manager and Corporate partners to ensure team embodies the quest for excellence, measured by Voice of Client (VOC) and Mystery Shop scores
- Assist sales associates with various client service issues and serve as a proactive mentor and problem solver
- Effectively utilize the POS system and ensure staff proficiency with inventory management functions
- Partner with logistics and product teams to ensure appropriate assortment
- Provide monthly qualitative and quantitative business reports to Corporate
- Maintain communication with corporate offices, mall management, repair facilities, and other stores
- Meet inventory accuracy and shrink requirements
- Partner with the Visual Manager to lead all visual merchandising standards
- Determine metro client profile to react appropriately to individual business trends
- Support visual merchandising in planning and implementing an innovative, compelling visual environment
- Review sales frequently and take corrective action to improve performance
Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years of retail experience with emphasis on operations, store management, or office administration, preferably in a luxury setting
- Existing client book strongly preferred
- Computer literacy and proficiency with various software packages and POS systems
- Passion for luxury products with an appreciation for design
- Strong interpersonal skills with staff, peers, supervisors, and corporate offices
- Proficiency in mediating and resolving issues and concerns
- Demonstrated action-oriented, results-driven approach

Experience
Minimum 6 years of experience in a retail setting with emphasis on operations, store management, or office administration, preferably within a luxury environment. Candidates with an established client book are strongly preferred.
