Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage the women's SLG product team and ensure timely delivery of all four annual collections
  • Establish collection retroplanning and define key merchandising milestones
  • Organize and communicate team workload and priorities to product managers and Italian manufacturing partners
  • Provide regular updates to the Collection Director on collection progress and initiatives
  • Develop SLG briefs and collection frameworks based on qualitative insights and quantitative analysis
  • Plan correct collection size and structure with appropriate carryover and seasonal novelty balance
  • Define target pricing and margin parameters while monitoring competitive landscape and new product launches
  • Collaborate closely with studio and development teams in Italy on prototype and sample development
  • Monitor collection size adherence and material sourcing requirements within approved budgets
  • Identify and mitigate prototyping and sampling risks; lead technical meetings and production tracking
  • Maintain collection management tools including summaries, product plans, SKU lists, and price matrices
  • Implement cost control mechanisms throughout development, ensuring achievement of target margins
  • Coordinate with legal teams on product nomenclature and intellectual property compliance
  • Collaborate with Visual Merchandising on showroom layout and arrange sales presentations for retail and wholesale partners
  • Ensure all showroom documentation is complete (product boards, SKU lists, compliance checklists)
  • Control product information accuracy in PLM systems and communicate updates to retail and wholesale teams
  • Conduct sell-in and sell-out analysis with Retail Merchandising; gather regular feedback from central and zone retail teams
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess SLG performance qualitatively and quantitatively
  • Provide product content to marketing and press teams; ensure website product descriptions are accurate
  • Collaborate with training teams to develop comprehensive and relevant product training materials

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising or product development within leather goods
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and expert-level Excel skills
  • Strong product sense and commercial acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, adapt rapidly to change, and work autonomously
  • Exceptional analytical and presentation capabilities
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and communicate effectively across disciplines
