Celine is recruiting a Retail Accountant in Paris on a full-time, permanent contract. Reporting to the Retail Accounting Manager within Financial Services, the role oversees accounting for two subsidiaries, including financial close, tax and audit coordination, and supports the implementation of SAP S4/HANA.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting for two subsidiaries, including VAT, payroll, tax and bank reconciliations.
- Upload subsidiary balance sheets to the consolidation ERP.
- Prepare audit files and manage relationships with the subsidiaries’ statutory auditors.
- Prepare tax declarations.
- Record closing entries, including inventory, accrued expenses and accrued revenue.
- Upload subsidiary cash flows to the consolidation ERP.
- Prepare statutory tax packages.
- Liaise with external accounting firms.
- Contribute to the implementation of SAP S4/HANA for the subsidiaries.
Qualifications
- Professional English proficiency, written and spoken, is essential.
- Degree or training such as DSCG, Master CCA (Accounting, Control and Audit), a Master’s in Audit or Finance, or equivalent.
- Three to five years of audit experience at an accounting or audit firm, including significant experience auditing foreign subsidiaries.
- Experience in retail, luxury, fashion or distribution is an advantage.
- Ability to work in an international environment and coordinate or communicate with contacts abroad and statutory auditors.
- Experience auditing foreign subsidiaries or international groups.
- Familiarity with liaising with statutory auditors and external auditors.
- Strong command of closing activities and account reviews.
- Autonomy, rigour and strong communication skills.
- Methodical approach, rigour and sound organisational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and enjoyment of teamwork.
