Céline Merchandising Trainee – 12-month temporary position in New York. Support buying, analytics, and merchandising operations in luxury fashion retail.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and run weekly sales reports, prepare sell-thru reports, and compile seasonal qualitative collection feedback
- Support merchandising team on ad-hoc analysis as needed
- Assist with all merchandising communications for stores, including weekly newsletter updates, seasonal selling tools, and product knowledge resources
- Prepare competitive landscape recaps including competitor pricing, trends, and market activities
- Support team during seasonal Buying Markets: compile premarket analysis, maintain buy sheets, and perform ad-hoc analysis during market sessions
- Assist in transferring and consolidating product across the region and follow up on product deliveries
- Support Leather Goods team in moving merchandise between stores for exotic caravans
Qualifications
- Active student in the NYC area pursuing an MBA or Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business Management or Fashion
- Minimum 3 years of work or internship experience
- Experience in luxury or fashion business preferred
- Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages advantageous
- Very strong analytical skills with a keen understanding of overall business dynamics
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and various software packages for reporting and analytics
- Demonstrated passion and sensibility for the fashion and luxury-goods industry
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication capabilities
- Proven ability for independent and creative problem-solving
- Strong organization and time management skills with ability to manage tight deadlines and multi-task
- Proficiency in retail mathematics
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3 years of work or internship experience required; luxury or fashion business background is a plus. Candidate must be available Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm.
Education
Active student pursuing an MBA degree or Undergraduate degree, preferably with a major in Business Management or Fashion, based in the New York City area.
