CELINE seeks an Assistant Store Director in New York (Madison Avenue). Competitive $125,000–$150,000 + benefits; luxury retail leadership role.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in executing daily store operations, sales strategies and retail policies to ensure Retail Excellence.
- Drive sales through on-floor leadership: coach, mentor and motivate sales associates to meet and exceed individual and category targets.
- Lead clienteling initiatives, using client books and CRM practices to acquire and retain high-value clients.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints personally when required and ensure high standards of service are maintained.
- Manage visual merchandising standards and collaborate with the Visual Merchandising Manager on store environment updates.
- Perform daily reporting and basic sales analysis as directed; take corrective action to improve sales performance.
- Share responsibility for the store P&L, inventory accuracy and shrink control by liaising with operations and implementing preventive initiatives.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training programmes; identify learning needs and deliver on-the-spot coaching.
- Support consignments processes and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Execute special projects and tasks assigned by the Store Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of retail experience with demonstrated progression in store management; experience in luxury retail strongly preferred.
- Business school or university degree, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills with a track record of coaching high-performing sales teams.
- Strong commercial acumen, familiarity with P&L drivers and inventory control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong problem-solving ability.
- High level of customer service orientation and ability to manage sensitive client relationships.
- Computer literate with aptitude to learn and use retail and reporting software.

Experience
Minimum 10 years of retail experience with emphasis on store management or office administration, preferably within a luxury fashion or leather-goods environment; proven leadership of sales teams and P&L responsibility.
Education
Business school, university or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 125,000 to USD 150,000 per annum.
