CELINE (Paris) seeks an Assistant Buyer — Materials & Components (work‑study) based in Paris, start Sept 2026.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyse material and component requirements from sales forecasts and client orders; place and monitor production purchase orders accordingly.
- Track pre‑purchase reporting and manage order cancellations and adjustments.
- Negotiate and enforce the triptych of quality, cost and lead time (including MOQs) with suppliers and ateliers.
- Ensure production lead times are met and adherence to delivery schedules at subcontractors and logistics platforms.
- Manage allocation of raw materials at manufacturing partners and communicate availability to production planners.
- Provide visibility on producible planning to production coordinators and contractors; coordinate delivery schedules.
- Identify alternative sourcing options for high‑risk purchases and follow-up industrialisation issues after standard approval.
- Monitor dormant, on‑hand and consigned stock levels and support inventory reconciliation at subcontractors.
- Control and validate supplier invoices and feed supplier performance reporting.
- Participate in supplier relationship management, follow up on penalties and ensure suppliers apply quality procedures.
- Define certified materials clearly and collect certificates at transaction; maintain master material and component dossiers for manufacturers.
- Conduct contractor inventory checks and follow up on after‑sales claims; order spare parts and master piece matrices as required.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an engineering or business school programme (or equivalent) compatible with a work‑study (alternance) contract.
- Prior internship or work‑study experience in purchasing/sourcing or production procurement is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills, rigor, autonomy and responsiveness in a fast‑paced production environment.
- Strong team orientation, adaptability, initiative and polyvalence.
- Keen product sensitivity and a clear quality mindset.
- Fluent English; Italian is a plus.

Early‑career role; candidates with a first internship or alternance in purchasing, sourcing or production support will be preferred.
Education
Currently enrolled in an engineering, business or equivalent higher‑education programme compatible with an alternance/work‑study contract.
