Cartier in Villars‑sur‑Glâne seeks a Watch Casing Operator to perform precision emboîtage and micro‑assembly for haute horlogerie components.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform precise emboîtage operations: insert and secure movements into watch cases according to technical specifications and tolerances.
  • Handle and assemble miniature components using hand tools and microscopes, ensuring correct alignment and function of case assemblies.
  • Carry out systematic visual and dimensional inspections to detect defects, contaminations or deviations; document findings and escalate defects per quality procedures.
  • Follow written work instructions, technical drawings and process checklists to guarantee traceability and conformity.
  • Operate and perform first‑line maintenance on semi‑automatic casing stations and dedicated assembly fixtures.
  • Maintain a clean, organised workstation and adhere strictly to cleanroom/ESD and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with quality control, production planning and technical teams to support continuous improvement and throughput targets.

Qualifications

  • Vocational training in watchmaking (horology) or precision mechanics preferred (CFC, apprenticeship or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable manual dexterity and experience working with micro‑mechanical assemblies.
  • Good visual acuity; ability to work for extended periods under a microscope or loupe.
  • Knowledge of basic measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer) and the ability to read technical drawings.
  • Commitment to following quality documentation and process discipline in a regulated production environment.

Experience

Previous experience in watch assembly, casing operations or precision micro‑assembly is preferred; 0–3 years acceptable for candidates with strong manual skills and relevant vocational training.

Education

Vocational diploma/apprenticeship in watchmaking (horology) or precision mechanics preferred; equivalent technical training will be considered.
