Role & Responsibilities
- Assemble watch movements and component sub-assemblies to precise horological specifications using hand tools and micro‑assembly techniques.
- Regulate, test and adjust timekeeping performance using timing equipment and visual inspection to meet Cartier quality standards.
- Interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions and quality control plans to ensure conformity with design tolerances.
- Conduct in‑process and final inspections, document findings and maintain traceability for components and serialised assemblies.
- Operate microscopes, loupes and measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers); perform delicate operations under magnification.
- Adhere to workshop procedures for cleanliness, ESD protection and safe handling of delicate components.
- Collaborate closely with quality assurance, engineering and production planning to resolve non‑conformities and support continuous improvement.
- Maintain workstation, tools and calibration records; participate in training and skills development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Recognised watchmaking qualification (CFC in horology, WOSTEP or equivalent) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of professional experience in watch or micro‑mechanical assembly, preferably within the Swiss watch industry.
- Excellent manual dexterity, steady hands and proven experience working under microscopes and loupes.
- Ability to read and apply technical drawings, assembly procedures and quality documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, methodical work habits and commitment to haute‑horlogerie quality standards.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience assembling watch movements or working in micro‑mechanical assembly within a horology production environment; experience in Swiss ateliers is preferred.
Education
Diploma in watchmaking (CFC), WOSTEP certificate or equivalent vocational qualification preferred.
Workplace
This position is based in Villars-sur-Glâne, Fribourg, Switzerland, within easy reach of Bern.
