Cartier (Paris) seeks a Stone Setter to join its jewellery atelier — expert in pavé, prong and bezel techniques for high‑end pieces.
Role & Responsibilities
- Hand-set diamonds and precious gemstones on high‑end jewellery and watch components using pavé, grain, prong, bezel and channel techniques.
- Secure and finish stones to Cartier quality standards, ensuring correct alignment, height and symmetry for each piece.
- Work from technical drawings, models and samples; adapt setting methods to bespoke and limited‑series pieces.
- Perform microscopic inspection and finishing to detect and correct imperfections; conduct final quality control checks.
- Maintain and calibrate bench tools and microscopes; ensure a clean, safe atelier bench and compliant handling of precious materials.
- Collaborate with design, production and quality teams to meet production schedules and resolve technical issues.
- Document work completed and report any gemological anomalies or repairs required.
Qualifications
- Vocational qualification in jewellery making / goldsmithing (e.g., CAP/BEP or equivalent) or completed apprenticeship in jewellery setting.
- Proven manual dexterity, steady hand and excellent visual acuity (loupe/microscope work).
- In-depth knowledge of gemstone characteristics and secure setting practices.
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high finishing standards.
- Ability to work in a team within an atelier environment and follow technical instructions precisely.

Several years of professional experience in stone setting within high‑end jewellery ateliers; experience with fine and bespoke jewellery is preferred (typically 3+ years).
