Cartier is hiring a Senior Merchandiser for Leather Goods & Accessories in Paris on a fixed-term contract to drive category strategy and global market performance.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement merchandising processes and tools in collaboration with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Operations, Commercial, and Supply Chain
  • Analyze category performance by product typology, collection, geography, and boutique location to identify optimization opportunities and growth levers
  • Monitor sales objectives, track variances, and provide actionable recommendations to support revenue targets and collection planning
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative market feedback regularly and maintain active monitoring of market trends
  • Participate in sales forecasting activities in coordination with product marketing, operations, and commercial teams
  • Support operations and regional teams in executing rapid action plans including assortment recommendations, inventory model adjustments, and stock rebalancing across markets
  • Define and maintain assortment guidelines for all product offerings and new launches, ensuring consistent visibility across channels
  • Contribute to space planning and display recommendations aligned with product strategy and regional requirements
  • Lead product launch strategies by specifying distribution networks, quantities, assortments, and phasing plans, ensuring consistent execution across markets
  • Serve as operational liaison between product marketing and commercial teams, translating product strategy into concrete actions for local execution
  • Organize showroom operations in project mode with peers, Category Merchandising Directors, and Marketing teams, consolidating and adjusting regional launch strategies and quantities
  • Support and motivate local teams to achieve established performance objectives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Merchandising or Buying roles, in central and/or regional positions
  • Graduate of a leading business school or engineering school
  • Deep sensitivity to the luxury sector with demonstrated curiosity for market trends
  • Experience in hard luxury, international markets, or retail environments is advantageous
  • Highly developed sense of performance analysis with strong synthesis capabilities
  • Strong problem-solving orientation and results-focused mindset
  • Autonomous with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and execution speed
  • Excellent interpersonal qualities and team collaboration skills
  • Fluent in English and French; additional languages are valued
