Cartier seeks a Sculptor in Paris to create wax sculptures and 3D models for haute joaillerie designs, translating 2D drawings into exceptional jewelry prototypes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Translate 2D design drawings into 3D volumes through modeling in plastiline and wax sculpting, identifying and resolving dimensional challenges before handover to jewelers and technical teams
- Create exploratory volume studies in support of design concepts presented to the creative committee, ensuring aesthetic and technical viability
- Sculpt pieces in wax from validated drawings produced collaboratively by the creative studio and production workshops
- Produce specialized modeling and sculptures for custom commissions to support designer and sales teams throughout the client presentation process
- Develop sculptural demonstrations of savoir-faire for brand events and exhibitions
- Maintain inventory management and implement systematic storage protocols for the molds and sculpture archives, serving as custodian of the manufacturing heritage collection
Qualifications
- Formal education in Sculpture, Applied Arts, or Applied Arts and Crafts
- Demonstrated expertise in wax sculpting
- Exceptional understanding of three-dimensional form, volume, and proportion
- Mastery of traditional modeling techniques including wax, clay, and plastiline
- Ability to transpose technical drawings from two dimensions into validated three-dimensional forms
