Cartier seeks experienced Fine Jewelry Micro-Atelier Supervisor in Paris to lead production team and drive operational excellence in luxury jewelry manufacturing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of jewelry artisans, fostering a respectful and stimulating work environment
- Coordinate and optimize production of fine jewelry pieces, including new designs, standard collections, and special commissions, ensuring excellence in quality, costs, and delivery timelines
- Schedule workshop production efficiently to maximize performance and service levels
- Monitor daily team capacity and workload, managing absences and leave while maintaining output targets
- Enforce and optimize production timelines across the team while maintaining compliance with manufacturing specifications
- Ensure rigorous application of fabrication procedures to guarantee safety, quality, and aesthetic standards of finished pieces
- Proactively alert management to production surcharges or underutilization, proposing tailored solutions
- Actively participate in the fabrication of jewelry pieces, applying technical expertise to ensure proper execution
- Conduct phase inspections and final quality control of all pieces produced within the micro-atelier
- Motivate the artisan team, fostering a climate of listening, collaboration, and mutual support to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement
- Develop team technical expertise and create a culture of performance and accountability
- Establish an environment conducive to innovation and experimentation, encouraging artisans to propose process and product improvements
- Serve as a member of the Atelier Managers Committee, actively contributing to tactical direction and ensuring cascading implementation within the team
- Participate in audits and self-assessments to ensure process control and compliance
- Cultivate collaboration across micro-ateliers through proactive support and constructive relationships with support services, external partners, and subcontractors
- Assume responsibility for proper precious materials management and strict adherence to security standards within the micro-atelier
Qualifications
- CAP Jewelry, Advanced Certificate (Mention Complémentaire), or Craft Diploma (Brevet des Métiers d'Art)
- Minimum 10 years of demonstrated experience in repetitive fine jewelry production environments
- OJ4 level (Ouvrier Joaillier 4) preferred; OJ3 level minimum
- Strong knowledge of fine jewelry products and manufacturing techniques
- Proven team management experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and standard digital tools
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in repetitive fine jewelry production, demonstrating advanced technical mastery and a track record of successfully managing or collaborating within artisan teams. Prior team leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous.
Education
CAP Jewelry (Certificat d'Aptitude Professionnelle Joaillerie), Mention Complémentaire, or Brevet des Métiers d'Art required.
