Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the boutique’s micro-atelier operations, ensuring all repair and maintenance activities meet Cartier’s quality and timing standards.
- Supervise, coach and schedule a small team of artisans and technicians (jewel setters, polishers, watch technicians), fostering continuous skills development and adherence to best practices.
- Perform final quality control and approval of repaired pieces, ensuring conformity with technical specifications and brand aesthetics.
- Handle technical assessments, estimate turnaround times and communicate repair status and technical constraints to clients and store teams with discretion and professionalism.
- Manage atelier inventory of spare parts, consumables and specialised tools; coordinate orders and maintain stock accuracy.
- Implement and maintain workplace health, safety and security procedures for delicate micro-mechanical operations.
- Collaborate with boutique management and after-sales networks to escalate complex technical issues and recommend preventive service improvements.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification in jewellery-making, gemmology, micro-mechanics or horology (CAP/BEP, vocational diploma or equivalent).
- Proven technical expertise in jewellery repair techniques (soldering, stone setting, polishing) and/or watch micro-mechanics.
- Demonstrable leadership experience managing a small technical team within a boutique or atelier environment.
- Rigorous attention to detail, manual dexterity and a commitment to luxury craftsmanship standards.
- Ability to manage client-facing technical conversations with tact and discretion.
Skills
Experience
Several years of hands-on experience in jewellery repair or horology, including experience in a boutique or small workshop setting; prior supervisory responsibility is expected.
Education
Vocational diploma or certification in jewellery-making, gemmology, horology or equivalent professional training.
