Cartier — Maintenance Technician (2-year contract) in Villars-sur-Glâne, Switzerland. Technical role supporting precision production equipment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and facility systems, ensuring optimal equipment availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and electromechanical faults; execute root-cause analysis and implement durable corrective actions.
  • Maintain and calibrate precision tools, conveyors, CNC machines and ancillary equipment in accordance with manufacturer and internal standards.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to coordinate shutdowns, support line conversions and improve machine uptime through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage maintenance documentation: update work orders, parts inventories and maintenance records in the CMMS and escalate critical spare parts needs.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety rules and regulatory requirements, including lockout/tagout procedures and machine guarding standards.

Qualifications

  • Vocational diploma or certificate in electromechanics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Proven ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and to perform fault-finding on complex systems.
  • Strong manual dexterity and aptitude for precision work; attention to detail consistent with fine jewellery/watchmaking production environments.
  • Valid authorization to work in Switzerland.
