Cartier Lapidary position in Paris 9ème: shape precious stones for luxury jewelry. Full-time permanent role in manufacturing workshop.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and prepare cutting and shaping tools in accordance with workshop standards
- Perform sawing and roughing operations on all types of stones
- Shape and refine stones using vertical wheel grinders and precision hand tools
- Execute fine adjustments and finishing work using handheld gravers
- Work with magnification equipment (loupes and binocular headsets) to ensure accuracy
- Select appropriate raw materials based on dimensional requirements, quality grading, and color specifications
- Read and interpret technical blueprints and production specifications
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in wheel-cutting and hand-tool stone shaping
- Strong understanding of volume and three-dimensional form
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of working with diverse stone materials and their specific properties
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
Skills
Experience
First-hand experience in wheel cutting and hand-tool stone shaping, with demonstrated proficiency in precision lapidary techniques.
Education
Technical training in gemstone cutting or lapidary arts; formal apprenticeship or vocational qualification in stone working is preferred.
