About Cartier

Cartier seeks an experienced Jewelry Designer in Le Locle, Switzerland to develop technical specifications and 3D CAD models for fine jewelry products.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive specifications incorporating ergonomic, structural, and repairability criteria from design, technical jewelry experts, and customer service teams
- Translate creative designs (gouache renderings) into precision 3D CAD models following Cartier's design standards
- Ensure manufacturing feasibility during product conception in collaboration with production method specialists
- Present and validate resin prototypes with the creative design team
- Verify physical prototype conformity (gold/platinum) prior to creative approval
- Defend technical choices and present physical prototypes to design stakeholders
- Produce complete technical documentation including 3D volumes, 2D engineering drawings, dimension chains, and product nomenclatures aligned with Cartier's methodology
- Supply required data for product reference creation in the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system
- Participate in reliability optimization and continuous product improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in micromechanics, mechanical engineering, ergonomic design, or equivalent discipline
- Minimum 3 years of confirmed experience in a similar jewelry design or product development role
- Proficiency with CREO or comparable professional CAD software
- Strong command of functional analysis methodology and dimensioning chains (chaînes de côte)
- Solid knowledge of technical assemblies and manufacturing feasibility constraints related to industrial machining
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects with autonomy and prioritization
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for cross-functional project defense
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities across multiple departments

Experience
Minimum 3 years of confirmed experience in jewelry design, product engineering, or similar technical roles, preferably within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Education
Bachelor's degree in micromechanics, mechanical engineering, ergonomic design, product design, or equivalent discipline.
