Cartier in Paris seeks a Jeweller for its High Jewellery atelier — expert in stone setting, soldering and hand finishing.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble and finish high‑jewellery pieces to maison standards, including soldering, filing, piercing and hand finishing.
  • Execute precise stone setting (pavé, prong, bezel and special settings) and secure mounting of precious stones and gems.
  • Perform micro‑soldering, laser welding and detailed polishing under microscope to achieve flawless surfaces and joins.
  • Undertake quality control and final inspection of pieces, ensuring compliance with technical drawings and atelier tolerances.
  • Collaborate closely with design, CAD/prototyping and production teams to translate concepts into manufacturable jewellery.
  • Maintain and calibrate bench tools and microscopes; ensure workshop safety, order and tooling readiness.
  • Document work progress, manage small repairs and restorations, and hand over completed pieces to quality assurance or clientèle teams.

Qualifications

  • Professional vocational qualification in jewellery-making or metalwork (e.g., CAP/BP or equivalent) or demonstrable bench experience in high jewellery.
  • Proven competence in a broad range of setting techniques and bench processes used in luxury jewellery manufacture.
  • Strong manual dexterity, visual acuity and experience working under microscope for fine detail.
  • Familiarity with gemstone properties and handling; GIA or equivalent gemological training preferred.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow atelier work instructions; French language skills advantageous.
