Cartier, Couvet: 3-year Horological Production Apprenticeship (CFC) beginning August 2027. Master precision watchmaking in an iconic luxury manufacture.
Role & Responsibilities
- Master the assembly of diverse horological movements including mechanical, automatic, quartz, and chronograph mechanisms
- Develop foundational micromechanical techniques encompassing filing, precision turning (on lathe 70), metrology, milling, drilling, and thermal treatments such as hardening and tempering
- Acquire finishing competencies including dial and hand installation, casing, bracelet adjustment, and case assembly
- Learn specialized operations in pivoting, regulation, and movement finishing
- Participate in practical internships within Cartier's ateliers and partner enterprises
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in French, both verbal and written, necessary to succeed in professional training
- Excellent aptitude in mathematics with interest in logical and technical reasoning
- Genuine interest in horology and precision mechanisms
- Manual dexterity, autonomy, and rigour
- Ability to concentrate, patience, and logical reasoning
- Teamwork orientation and interpersonal ease
Skills
Experience
Candidates typically complete secondary education with strong performance in mathematics and technical subjects; prior experience in mechanical or artisanal crafts is advantageous but not required.
Education
Swiss secondary education (or equivalent) required; successful completion of mathematical and technical coursework strongly preferred. The position leads to certification as Certificat Fédéral de Capacité (CFC) Watchmaker in Production upon completion of the three-year apprenticeship.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Couvet, Neuchâtel, Switzerland, with easy access to La Chaux-de-Fonds.
