Cartier — Paris: Contract role for Director, International Merchandising (Leather Goods & Accessories) to lead global assortment and commercial strategy.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and implement the international merchandising strategy for leather goods and accessories, ensuring alignment with Maison brand positioning and commercial targets.
- Lead assortment architecture and seasonal range planning across all channels (flagship, retail network, wholesale and e‑commerce), optimising mix, breadth and depth by market.
- Drive pricing, margin and promotional strategies to maximise profitability while safeguarding brand equity.
- Oversee global financial planning for the category, including demand forecasting, inventory optimisation and sell‑through analysis.
- Collaborate closely with design, product development, production and supply‑chain teams to ensure timely collection development and launches.
- Coordinate with regional merchandising and commercial teams to translate global ranges into market‑specific assortments and go‑to‑market plans.
- Manage and mentor an international merchandising team; set KPIs, monitor performance and cultivate cross‑functional partnerships.
- Champion customer and market insight to inform product decisions, trend direction and lifecycle management of core styles.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in luxury leather goods and accessories merchandising at an international level, ideally within a maison or premium fashion house.
- Several years of senior leadership experience with responsibility for P&L, assortment planning and cross‑border commercial roll‑out.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen and strong analytical capability in forecasting, inventory control and margin management.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience collaborating across design, supply chain, wholesale and retail teams.
- Strong organisational skills, decisive decision‑making and experience leading multicultural teams; high level of autonomy.

Education
