Cartier CNC Machine Setter role in La Chaux-de-Fonds, setting up and operating S1000 machines in watchmaking manufacturing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Set up, start and operate S1000 machines and other manufacturing equipment in accordance with current procedures.
- Complete machine setup, verify tooling conformity and make the necessary tool corrections.
- Hand over instructions to incoming teams and transfer essential information.
- Ensure part conformity through visual and dimensional inspections, making the necessary corrections in accordance with procedures.
- Help clean and maintain equipment, machines and tools.
- Comply with occupational health and safety rules.
- Use the digital tools provided to ensure optimal manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Hold a Swiss Federal VET Diploma (CFC) in polymechanics or production mechanics, or equivalent training.
- Have confirmed professional experience in CNC machining.
- Knowledge of S1000-type machines is an advantage.
- Be proficient with standard dimensional inspection tools, including Marcel Aubert (VideoCad) and Zeiss three-dimensional inspection.
- Be rigorous, motivated, organized and conscientious, with an appreciation for teamwork.
- Use analytical thinking to identify malfunctions and follow them through to resolution as part of a continuous-improvement approach.
