Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare swatches and apply them to cut tickets for contractor reference
  • Steam, measure, and ready samples for production fittings and approvals
  • Shadow Production Department on all activities including trim package creation, shipment preparation, and factory communications
  • Participate in production fittings and contribute to sample evaluation
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of patternmaker style sheets and garment documentation
  • Research, source, and coordinate materials, trims, and fabrics aligned with seasonal collection requirements
  • Support factory pickups and dropoffs within the New York garment district
  • Coordinate sample transfers between atelier and public relations
  • Prepare swatches and bill-of-materials updates for atelier patternmakers
  • Maintain organized, efficient studio workspace and support managers in studio operations

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of woven and knitwear garment construction (or demonstrated willingness to learn)
  • Basic pattern reading ability; hand-sewing and machine-sewing experience preferred
  • Familiarity with fabric types and properties
  • Knowledge of New York garment district logistics
