The Sewing Machine Operator reports to the Sewing Supervisor and produces outerwear to Canada Goose quality standards, completing garment components and meeting daily productivity quotas. This full-time role requires 2–3 years of sewing experience and offers an hourly range of CAD 18.38–26.93, with actual offers depending on experience, skills and role alignment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team to complete garments.
- Sew garment components, including pockets, flaps, zippers, hoods, sleeves and linings to shells, in accordance with specifications and appearance requirements.
- Assess garment pieces before sewing to ensure they meet Canada Goose quality standards.
- Sew to Canada Goose quality standards for measurements, appearance and other criteria.
- Meet or exceed daily individual productivity quotas while maintaining quality standards.
- Learn new operations to help achieve the company’s goal of 100% efficiency or more.
- Follow Canada Goose rules, regulations and code of conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience operating single-needle, double-needle and seam serger machines.
- Experience with specialty machines is a definite asset.
- Experience joining garment sections into a finished product.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Arm-hand steadiness when guiding fabric through a machine.
- Manual dexterity to make coordinated movements with one or both hands to manipulate fabric.
- Control precision to make quick, repeated, precise adjustments to a machine’s foot controls.
Experience
2–3 years of sewing experience, preferably in the apparel manufacturing industry.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, with easy access to Toronto.
