Calvin Klein Senior Garment Technician

Role & Responsibilities

• Oversee technical development of allocated styles, collaborating with global technical teams and hub cross-functional partners to ensure consistency across collections
• Provide guidance and mentorship to garment technicians, sharing knowledge on fitting best practices, standard operating procedures, communication, and time management
• Compile, analyze, and document directional fitting comments in Centric PLM system with clarity and precision
• Evaluate garment construction and quality to identify potential risks and testing requirements, proposing alternative solutions to mitigate issues
• Uphold design intent across multi-base sizes from first fit through production approval, proactively addressing concerns with technical and design teams
• Manage vendor sample turnaround and approval coordination with hub sourcing partners, ensuring timely vendor communication and action
• Create, implement, and assess annual standard operating procedures internally and externally, ensuring relevance and compliance
• Manage vendor accreditation training for production and fit approval, allocating programs and style responsibilities according to vendor capabilities
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors and internal cross-functional teams
• Lead and participate in cross-functional communication initiatives, sharing technical knowledge to enhance organizational alignment
• Participate in projects to develop and define new standard operating procedures and best practices

Qualifications

• Diploma or above in Technical Design, Pattern Grading, or equivalent qualification
• University or engineering degree with 6–8 years of related work experience in garment development or technical design
• Demonstrated expertise in fitting, pattern making, grading, construction, and testing across production categories
• Experience managing and mentoring subordinates
• Proficiency with Lectra system and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software
• Advanced knowledge of live model garment fitting and vendor manufacturing guidance
• Strong understanding of sewing techniques, stitch properties, and garment detailing
• Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate effectively across teams and organizational levels

Skills

Experience

6–8 years of professional experience in garment technical development, product engineering, or technical design roles within the apparel industry. Prior experience managing subordinates and cross-functional vendor relationships is essential. Background in swimwear, sports bra, and lingerie categories is advantageous.

Education

Diploma or above in Technical Design, Pattern Grading, or equivalent field. University or engineering degree preferred.
