Role & Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and achieve department sales, gross margin, and inventory plans through assortment strategies, price architecture, and promotional tactics
- Lead teams to create balanced assortments addressing brand appropriateness, fashion vision, quality, fit, value, and SKU depth
- Develop and execute strategies grounded in analysis of business performance and competitive positioning
- Collaborate with Planning to develop effective class plans, pricing strategies, and point-of-sale execution
- Identify key business opportunities; analyze market data and execute timely reorders and cancellations to maximize profitability
- Partner with VP and SVP of Buying to execute top-level strategic initiatives across cross-functional teams
- Serve as subject matter expert on competitive landscape and industry trends; translate insights into innovative, fashion-forward product offerings
- Collaborate with visual merchandising to drive sales and margin through strategic in-store presentations
- Train, develop, and lead direct reports while fostering a culture of continuous learning and creative autonomy
- Maintain effective communication with field organization; solicit and integrate feedback into departmental strategy
- Lead senior management meetings including business reviews and buy reviews, presenting in-depth analysis with data-driven recommendations
Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of retail buying experience, with full-price and e-commerce buying expertise strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Strategic thinking with ability to manage across high-level and granular detail levels
- Balanced analytical and innovative thinking from both business operations and product perspectives
- Highly organized and change-agile; able to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, and JDA systems

Minimum 7 to 10 years of retail buying experience, including expertise in full-price and e-commerce buying. Proven track record of developing and executing merchandise strategies that drive sales and margin performance across multiple retail channels.
Education
