About Calvin Klein
Calvin Klein is a globally influential American fashion house founded in New York in 1968, celebrated for its refined minimalism, modern sensuality, and cultural impact across apparel, underwear, denim, fragrance, and lifestyle categories. As an employer, the brand offers a dynamic environment where design intelligence, commercial agility, and inclusive storytelling converge. Its teams contribute to a legacy shaped by bold imagery, disciplined simplicity, and a distinctly urban point of view. Calvin Klein seeks talent eager to challenge convention, understand contemporary consumers, and build resonant brand experiences within an international organization committed to creativity, collaboration, and responsible growth.
Calvin Klein seeks a Global Men’s and Women’s Close-to-Body Merchandising Manager to lead channel strategy, merchandising, inventory flow, financial performance, and a cross-functional team across OP channels. The role requires at least 6 years of relevant apparel experience, global channel expertise, and domestic and international travel as needed; it is full-time and not eligible for sponsorship. Base salary is $104,500–$141,200, with bonus eligibility.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define long-term and seasonal strategies for the OP channels—core wholesale, direct, and partners—for men’s and women’s CTB.
- Align product assortments, pricing, markdown and promotional cadence, and inventory flow with each channel’s economics, consumer behavior, and brand constraints.
- Design SKU segmentation, style-migration rules from OP to OUT, and clearance cadence.
- Calibrate global and regional channel strategies to local market conditions while preserving overall brand consistency.
- Drive assortment, core replenishment strategy, and inventory flow between OP channels to maximize sell-through and margin and minimize overstocks.
- Lead channel assortment optimization across core and seasonal product, and bestsellers and fashion, for men’s and women’s CTB categories.
- Work with global and regional merchandising teams on product planning, ensuring the OP channel product roadmap informs downstream OUT plans.
- Partner with supply chain, operations, and logistics teams to enable efficient transfers, returns, and reverse flows between channels.
- Collaborate with OP Outlet, wholesale, partnerships, and retail teams to align channel execution and product 360.
- Support marketing, visual merchandising, and consumer insights teams with channel-specific product stories, assortments, and go-to-market plans.
- Provide product, channel-performance, and business insights to senior leadership; present analyses, forecasts, and corrective plans.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, including channel revenue, margin, sell-through, inventory turns, markdown rate, inventory age, and style migrations.
- Conduct ongoing and post-season performance reviews by channel and product category for men’s and women’s products, applying learnings to future cycles.
- Model scenarios for channel-mix shifts, segmentation, and test pilots, such as “premium outlet” assortments, to drive optimization.
- Lead a cross-functional team of channel merchants.
- Define roles, goals, performance metrics, and development paths.
- Foster a results-oriented, collaborative culture that proactively resolves channel conflicts or overlap.
- Ensure rigorous process control, regular reporting, and accountability in execution.
- Support global rollout of channel strategies, adapting them to regional requirements such as Asia and EMEA.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed to vendors, regional offices, outlets, and partner locations for alignment, store visits, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of merchandising, planning, or channel-management experience in apparel, preferably in underwear, intimates, or related apparel essentials.
- A proven track record managing both core/wholesale and outlet/off-price/clearance channels, or analogous dual-channel responsibilities.
- Experience leading teams of merchants, planners, allocators, and analysts.
- Experience working with global brands, with exposure to multiple geographies and scaling channel strategies across regions.
- Previous experience in CTB, close-to-body, intimate apparel, or base-layer categories.
- Experience or comfort with digital/direct channels as part of the OP mix.
- An MBA, master’s, or advanced degree in business, merchandising, or a relevant field.
- A degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
- Familiarity with global sourcing, vendor management, and supply chain.
- Experience scaling products across global markets with regional differentiation.
- Strong analytical orientation, including financial modeling, inventory flow, margin optimization, and markdown planning.
- Deep understanding of product, assortment, and channel synergies, particularly for men’s and women’s undergarments.
- Excellent cross-functional communication, stakeholder-management, and influencing skills.
- Strong business acumen and decision discipline in balancing short- and long-term channel trade-offs.
- Readiness to travel and global sensibility, with the ability to operate across time zones, cultures, and regional nuances.
- A passion for minimalist design and a strong sense of brand-aesthetic integrity.
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
