The Assistant Merchandiser supports Calvin Klein’s Global Merchandising team in line planning, pricing, product creation, assortment strategy, and product lifecycle management across assigned categories, channels, and genders. The role partners with cross-functional teams and supports seasonal milestones and international markets. This is a full-time position.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Merchant to support seasonal product vision and develop line plans aligned with customer needs, business strategy, and financial targets.
  • Analyze sales data, market insights, and consumer trends to understand customers and inform assortment decisions.
  • Use sales performance, projections, bookings, and sell-through data to make recommendations and support data-driven decisions.
  • Maintain merchandising calendars and ensure key deliverables and cross-functional deadlines are met.
  • Support sample management by tracking samples, reviewing prototypes, and documenting feedback to facilitate timely product updates and changes.
  • Create and maintain market tools, assortment guides, and internal presentations for sales, retail, and cross-functional partners.
  • Compile and analyze merchandising reports, including projections, booking recaps, sales performance, and post-season recaps, to identify risks, opportunities, and trends.
  • Conduct ongoing brand, consumer, and competitive research to monitor market trends and evolving customer preferences.
  • Interpret data and trends, connecting insights to customer behavior and business performance.
  • Support process improvements that enhance efficiency, clarity, and ways of working within the merchandising team.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Supply Chain, Raw Materials, Marketing, and Sales to support cohesive execution.
  • Support merchandising needs across international markets, accounting for regional nuances and customer differences.
  • Balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Support seasonal milestones, including line reviews, market preparation, hindsight analysis, and cross-functional presentations.
  • Create and maintain global line matrices, assortment tools, and product databases, ensuring accuracy throughout seasonal milestones.
  • Support product lifecycle management, including seasonal hindsight, line optimization, late adds, product exits, and ongoing assortment refinement.
  • Help build and maintain global assortment architecture by category, franchise, end use, price point, and consumer need.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in merchandising, buying, planning, or product development; internship experience is considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in arts or sciences, merchandising, business, or a related field.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • High level of analytical skill and conceptual creative ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • General understanding of retail math.
  • Customer-focused mindset and demonstrated interest in understanding consumers and how product decisions affect customer experience and performance.
  • Growth mindset and willingness to learn and continuously improve.

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 60,800 to USD 87,800 per annum.
