Burberry seeks a Weaving Preparation Operative in Keighley, UK to support iconic fabric production and loom preparation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain safety standards across all preparation machinery, including control systems and protective guards
- Operate knotting machines to lease preparation beams according to production schedules
- Prepare knotted looms for production technician start-ups following precise specifications
- Produce loom sets using Staubli drawing-in machinery
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of knotting and drawing-in equipment and accessories
- Cover weaver break times and assist the weaving team as required
- Optimize machinery utilization and manage machine downtime
- Ensure accurate documentation of work schedules, loom tickets, and quality records
- Log faults and repairs following company procedures and communicate findings to line management
- Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures
- Support implementation and sustenance of 5S workplace organization principles
Qualifications
- Textile production experience or background working with textile machinery
- Demonstrated ability to work to high quality standards in a manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of weaving processes and loom preparation
- Proficiency in following detailed instructions and technical specifications
- Precision and accuracy in executing repetitive technical tasks
