Burberry Trim Developer position in Milan. Lead trim development for ready-to-wear collections, managing vendor partnerships and cross-functional collaboration.
Role & Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with trim vendors, developing clear understanding of capabilities, capacity and delivery timelines
- Lead seasonal trim research initiatives and present innovative concepts aligned with design direction and brand standards
- Define and manage the trim development critical path, ensuring milestones are met and risks are proactively identified and addressed
- Oversee sourcing, ordering and delivery of trims, ensuring quality, cost and timing targets are consistently achieved
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Product Development and Engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and support product testing
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information within PLM systems, ensuring consistency and transparency throughout the development cycle
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of trim development, materials and construction techniques
- Proven ability to translate design concepts into technically viable solutions
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with external vendors and suppliers
- Knowledge of fabrics, raw materials, garment construction and leather
- Proficiency with PLM systems and Microsoft Excel
- Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational and project management capabilities
Skills
Experience
Proven professional experience in trim development, product development or related roles within fashion or apparel manufacturing, with demonstrated success managing vendor relationships and delivering products to technical specification and on schedule.
Education
Qualification in fashion design, product development, materials science, or related discipline preferred.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Milan, Lombardy, Italy.
