Burberry Tokyo is hiring a Training Manager to lead retail learning, service excellence and capability development across Japan.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, localise and deliver in‑store training programmes covering selling skills, brand rituals, clienteling and service excellence across Japan retail locations.
- Conduct regular store visits to observe customer experience, assess service execution, provide real‑time coaching and identify training gaps.
- Partner with Store Managers and Retail Managers to uplift leadership capability through coaching, targeted learning and on‑the‑job reinforcement.
- Ensure consistent message delivery and training quality across all stores while prioritising training initiatives by commercial impact.
- Translate and adapt global learning content to the cultural and operational context of the Japan market.
- Share actionable insights on product experience and customer engagement to inform commercial and merchandising teams.
- Measure training effectiveness, maintain training calendars and report progress and impact to regional leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in retail training or learning & development, preferably within luxury fashion retail.
- Native‑level Japanese and business‑level English, both written and spoken.
- Excellent communication, coaching and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to design learning content and deliver engaging classroom and in‑store sessions.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities with cross‑functional teams.

Experience
Experience in retail training or learning & development roles, ideally acquired within luxury fashion retail environments, with a track record of delivering in‑store coaching and measurable improvements in service standards and commercial performance.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
