Burberry seeks a Trade Compliance Specialist to join its Tecnica operations in Collegno, Turin, where they will manage international trade and customs compliance activities across the global supply chain. The role encompasses commodity code classification, preferential origin programme administration, Outward Processing Regime management, and the development of customs controls and standard operating procedures. The specialist will collaborate with logistics, product development, sourcing teams, and external partners to ensure accurate customs documentation and operational excellence while identifying duty optimization opportunities.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage commodity code classification for finished goods and raw materials, ensuring accuracy, consistency and robust data governance
- Lead day-to-day administration of preferential origin programmes and identify opportunities to maximize benefits of trade agreements
- Establish and manage Outward Processing Regime (OPR) processes, ensuring full compliance and effective duty relief management
- Develop, enhance and maintain customs compliance controls, policies and standard operating procedures
- Partner with Logistics, Product Development, Sourcing and external stakeholders to ensure accurate customs documentation and smooth clearance activities
- Support supply chain and business transformation initiatives by embedding customs and trade compliance requirements into new operating models
Qualifications
- Experience in customs and trade compliance within an international business environment
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU customs regulations, customs valuation, commodity classification, preferential origin and Incoterms
- Practical experience managing Outward Processing Regimes and preferential origin programmes
- Strong analytical skills with experience working with customs data and reporting
