Burberry seeks a Service Lead to supervise sales teams and drive customer experience at its McLean, Virginia retail location.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Supervise, assist and motivate sales associates to deliver exceptional customer experiences on the selling floor; serve as quality control to ensure every client interaction is memorable
  • Partner with associates to enhance selling skills and close rates in order to achieve sales goals and KPIs
  • Lead a high-performing, customer-facing and service-oriented team, providing coaching and feedback to ensure all customers receive the full Burberry Experience aligned with brand strategies
  • Manage customer flow to optimize service delivery and prevent clients from being left unattended; model excellence in customer service standards
  • Drive collaboration between sales associates, specialists, stock associates and operations team on the selling floor
  • Deliver in-the-moment coaching and post-transaction feedback to associates, discussing successes and opportunities for improvement
  • Develop and retain talented employees through performance recognition, monthly development plans and annual performance reviews
  • Lead by example by delivering the Burberry Experience to customers when necessary
  • Partner with General Manager, Store Manager and Sales & Planning to oversee Burberry Experience training; use morning and weekly meetings to reinforce key elements through role-play and coaching
  • Set goal expectations and deliver formal performance feedback through monthly Burberry Experience Development Plans
  • Resolve difficult customer issues and escalate to management when necessary
  • Process post-void transactions, authorize promotional discounts and employee sales in the absence of store management
  • Champion the digital in-store experience and use digital resources for communication when face-to-face engagement is not possible
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of business operations and communicate needs and ideas to advance business performance
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures, consistently enforcing guidelines on store operations
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures including securing doors, windows and merchandise, alarming the store and executing POS procedures

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience in retail sales
  • Advanced proficiency with point-of-sale systems
  • Experience with Apple mobile devices and comfort with digital tools
  • Strong understanding of luxury retail operations and customer service excellence
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop sales teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
