Burberry Service Lead in Chicago, Illinois — supervise sales team, drive customer experiences, and deliver coaching for KPI achievement in luxury retail.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise and motivate sales associates to consistently deliver high-value experiences on the selling floor, acting as a quality control supervisor to ensure every customer interaction is memorable
- Partner with associates to improve selling skills and close sales in order to achieve sales goals and key performance indicators
- Lead a high-performing, customer-facing and service-oriented team by coaching and providing feedback to ensure all customers receive the full Burberry Experience in alignment with brand strategies
- Manage customer flow to ensure optimal service delivery, set the pace and standard for excellent service, and ensure no client is left unattended
- Drive partnership on the selling floor among sales associates, specialists, stock associates, and operations team
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and conduct post-transaction feedback sessions with associates to discuss successes, opportunities, and follow-through on action items
- Develop and retain talented employees by recognizing and rewarding performance through monthly development plans and annual performance reviews
- Lead by example by delivering the Burberry Experience to customers when necessary
- Partner with store management to establish the Burberry Experience training program, using morning and weekly meetings to reinforce key elements through role-play and coaching
- Deliver formal performance feedback in partnership with store management through monthly Burberry Experience Development Plans
- Resolve difficult customer issues and escalate to management when necessary
- In the absence of store management, process post-void transactions, authorize promotional discounts, and oversee employee sales
- Drive the digital experience in store and use digital resources to communicate when face-to-face interaction is not possible
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the business and effectively communicate needs and ideas to advance business performance
- Ensure consistent adherence to company policies and procedures and enforce company guidelines on operations
- Assist with store opening and closing procedures, including securing doors, windows, and merchandise, and managing alarm and POS systems
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of supervisory or management experience in retail sales
- Advanced knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems
- Experience with Apple mobile devices and proficiency with digital tools
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing retail teams
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of luxury retail brand standards and customer experience principles
Skills
Experience
1–2 years of supervisory or management experience in a retail sales environment is required. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of leading teams, driving sales performance, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required; retail management certification or equivalent training is preferred.
