Burberry seeks a Senior Record to Report Accountant for maternity cover in Leeds. Fixed-term finance role managing RTR processes and financial reporting.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own the reconciliation, review and approval of Record to Report balances and manual journal adjustments
- Prepare and review accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage assigned accounting processes end-to-end, ensuring adherence to deadlines, controls and reporting requirements
- Build trusted relationships with Group Finance, external auditors and other stakeholders, resolving issues collaboratively and responding to queries promptly
- Support and guide direct reports through clear work reviews, regular feedback and day-to-day coaching
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls and deliver more effective ways of working
Qualifications
- Studying towards, or qualified in, a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Relevant accounting experience with practical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
- Confident working with complex financial information, large data sets and advanced Excel models to identify meaningful trends and insights
- Able to understand wider business considerations, provide clear functional guidance and build effective relationships across teams
- Experience with SAP, BPC, multicurrency accounting, retail, FMCG or shared services environment beneficial
- Collaborative and thoughtful approach with strong attention to detail and commitment to financial control and continuous improvement
Skills
Experience
Relevant accounting experience, including practical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP standards. Prior exposure to financial statement preparation, reconciliation processes, and working within a structured finance function is expected. Experience in retail, FMCG, or shared services environments, or familiarity with SAP and BPC systems, would strengthen the candidacy.
Education
Studying towards, or already qualified in, a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA (Institute of Chartered Accountants), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), or an equivalent professional credential.
