Burberry seeks a Senior Merchandiser in Tokyo to lead seasonal buying, range planning, pricing analysis and stock allocation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct seasonal buys four times a year, set strategic direction for each category, and present range plans for approval.
- Analyse weekly and monthly sales reports and propose appropriate actions.
- Manage stock allocation for each category in line with the strategic direction for each store.
- Collaborate with the Merchandising team to develop product-category strategies and influence cross-functional teams to deliver them.
- Build effective working relationships with the APAC Regional Merchandising team to support sales and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Deliver seasonal product training to stores and present the strategy for each category.
- Develop and present range plans for approval, including pricing, COO, and competition strategies.
- Manage the category sample budget and ensure samples are tracked, maintained, and ordered effectively.
- Manage PLM data entry and support the Merchandising Assistant in preparing reports for the Merchandising team using Excel.
- Conduct competitive analysis, including pricing analysis.
- Partner with the Corporate Pricing team to understand price bands across the three core currencies, report findings to the Merchandising team, and maintain PLM data supporting the price structure.
- Coordinate and support all administrative duties for the Merchandising team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in MS Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of retail business dynamics.
- Ability to interpret market trends and translate them into actionable merchandising strategies.
