Role & Responsibilities
- Operate and optimise Security Operations Center (SOC) processes: ingest, tune and investigate alerts from SIEM and detection platforms.
- Lead incident response: triage, containment, eradication and post-incident root-cause analysis, producing clear technical reports and executive summaries.
- Conduct proactive threat hunting and adversary emulation using MITRE ATT&CK to identify and mitigate emerging threats.
- Manage vulnerability and patching programmes in collaboration with IT infrastructure, cloud and application teams to reduce exposure across hybrid environments.
- Design, deploy and harden security controls across endpoints, networks, cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) and identity platforms.
- Develop and maintain runbooks, playbooks and automation (SOAR) to accelerate detection and response workflows.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (IT, legal, compliance, retail operations) to embed security requirements into projects and third‑party assessments.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continual improvement of SOC metrics, KPIs and threat intelligence capabilities.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in security operations and incident response at enterprise scale.
- Relevant certifications preferred (CISSP, CISM, GIAC/GSEC/GCIH) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Strong understanding of network, endpoint, cloud and identity security controls and associated telemetry.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to corporate and retail environments (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR) is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings for senior stakeholders.

Experience
Typically 5+ years in information security with substantial hands-on experience in SOC operations, incident response and threat hunting within medium-to-large enterprises. Experience across cloud and retail/consumer-facing environments is desirable.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree or specialised security training preferred.
