Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely month‑end journals including accruals, prepayments, payroll and provisions.
- Compile and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items to resolution.
- Support cash flow forecasting and produce analysis explaining movements.
- Deliver RTR (record-to-report) reporting to satisfy internal and external requirements.
- Respond to ad‑hoc finance queries and provide clear, well‑considered analysis during close cycles.
- Identify and support process, control and documentation improvements in collaboration with Finance and BBS stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Part‑qualified accountant studying towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA — or willingness to commence professional studies.
- Sound understanding of month‑end close processes and balance sheet accounting principles.
- Proven experience preparing reconciliations and supporting audit queries.
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel with ability to analyse and explain movements.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, deadline‑driven environment.
- Detail‑oriented, curious and motivated to develop technical accounting ownership.
Skills
Experience
Demonstrable experience supporting month‑end close, preparing balance sheet reconciliations and assisting audit processes within a corporate finance or shared services environment.
Education
Part‑qualified accountant (studying toward ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or willingness to begin professional accountancy studies.
