Burberry seeks a Quality Assurance Technician in Piacenza, Italy to inspect vendors, perform AQL checks and drive factory quality improvements.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-line and final AQL inspections at vendor and factory sites to ensure finished goods meet Burberry quality standards.
  • Perform comprehensive factory assessments to evaluate quality systems, traceability and production controls; drive corrective and sustainable action plans with vendors.
  • Monitor vendor quality performance through KPI reports, defect trend analysis and NC reports, and hold vendors accountable for remediation.
  • Lead pre-production and handover meetings with Product Engineering and vendors to risk-assess styles and approve TOP samples.
  • Train and coach vendor and third‑party QC teams on Burberry quality standards, AQL audit techniques and best practices.
  • Visit external suppliers (printers, embroiderers, etc.) to inspect processes, investigate root causes and support problem resolution.
  • Support cross-functional teams (Product Engineering, Global Sourcing) by providing production intelligence and participating in QA process improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Proven quality assurance or production experience within apparel/textiles or a related manufacturing environment of similar complexity.
  • Practical knowledge of AQL audit techniques, statistical analysis, traceability controls, defect trend analysis and product testing processes.
  • Experience conducting factory assessments and implementing corrective action plans with vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to influence vendor teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
  • Available for frequent travel to vendor sites in the Marche and Umbria regions and other production partners as required.

Experience

Several years of hands-on quality assurance or production experience in apparel, textile or related manufacturing environments, with demonstrable exposure to vendor management, factory assessments and AQL-based inspection regimes.

Education

Bachelor's degree in textile engineering, materials science, fashion technology or equivalent vocational/technical qualification with substantial industry experience.
