Production Planner role at a leading luxury fashion house in Milan — responsible for master scheduling, MRP and supplier coordination.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain master production schedules (MPS) across seasonal collections, balancing demand forecasts, capacity and inventory targets.
- Translate sales forecasts and orders into weekly and monthly production plans; adjust priorities in response to material shortages, quality holds or supply disruptions.
- Manage material requirements planning (MRP) runs and drive replenishment decisions with suppliers and internal workshops to ensure on-time component and finished-goods delivery.
- Coordinate cross‑functional S&OP activities with merchandising, buying, quality, sourcing and logistics to align capacity and launch timelines.
- Monitor production KPIs (OTD, yield, lead times, inventory turns) and provide actionable reports and variance analysis to operations leadership.
- Expedite critical orders, resolve bottlenecks on the shop floor and liaise with suppliers to accelerate deliveries when required.
- Maintain accurate production and supply data in the ERP/PLM system and ensure bill-of-materials and routing integrity for new styles and revisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial/Production Engineering, Logistics or related field.
- Proven ability to manage complex, seasonal assortments typical of apparel or leather-goods manufacturing.
- Strong analytical capability with attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to problem solving.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to communicate priorities clearly across sourcing, production and commercial teams.

Experience
Typically 3–5 years of production planning, materials planning or master scheduling experience in apparel, leather goods or closely related manufacturing environments, with demonstrated success coordinating suppliers and internal workshops to meet seasonal launch calendars.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial/Production Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration or a closely related discipline.
