The Product Development Assistant supports Burberry’s Ready-to-Wear Product Development team, helping move collections from concept through delivery while maintaining quality, accuracy and organisation. The role coordinates development records, budgets, samples, shipments, purchase orders and product information, and collaborates with Product Developers, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and update product lifecycle management systems, ensuring data accuracy throughout collection development.
- Partner with Product Developers to support supplier relationships and the timely, cost-conscious delivery of development milestones.
- Manage collection documentation, trackers and development records to provide clear visibility throughout the season.
- Monitor development budgets, samples and prototypes, supporting accurate tracking and reporting.
- Coordinate sample management, including organisation, filing, archiving and preparation of materials for fittings and key meetings.
- Support day-to-day product development activities, including shipment coordination, purchase order administration and product information management.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting product development activities in a fashion, luxury or related product environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage and maintain accurate data across multiple workstreams.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Clear, confident communication and effective collaboration with colleagues, suppliers and external partners.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of development costs, budgets and product lifecycle processes.
- Passion for fashion, product craftsmanship and customer-focused innovation, with an interest in Ready-to-Wear construction and development.
