Role & Responsibilities
- Develop strategic partnerships with Design and Graphics teams, serving as a technical consultant to ensure alignment between creative vision and product feasibility throughout development stages
- Cultivate and maintain vendor relationships, understanding manufacturing capabilities to negotiate cost-effectively while preserving design integrity
- Lead critical path management from concept ideation to pre-production, rigorously overseeing timelines and swiftly resolving obstacles to maintain delivery schedules
- Validate that all prototypes and samples meet Burberry's quality, cost, and timeline specifications while safeguarding target margins during production transition
- Monitor product functionality, consistency, and fitness for purpose, conducting ongoing risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to validate testing standards, harmonising technical and aesthetic considerations
- Support production readiness by attending vendor meetings, managing technical specifications, and preparing samples for manufacturing handover
- Mentor and guide Product Development Assistants, fostering skill development and reinforcing best practices
- Maintain accuracy of all product data in PLM systems, ensuring comprehensive records supporting operational excellence
Qualifications
- Advanced technical knowledge of garment and fabric construction specific to jersey fabrics
- Expertise in printing, embroidery, washes, and garment dye processes
- Demonstrated proficiency with PLM platforms, Excel, and InDesign
- Proven vendor management experience with track record of delivering clear briefs and leveraging manufacturing capabilities
- Hands-on operational familiarity with factory environments and on-site manufacturing coordination
