Burberry seeks a Product Developer Childrenswear for maternity cover in London. Oversee product development, vendor relations, and design collaboration.
Role & Responsibilities
- Partner with Senior Designers to translate creative vision into product, attending fittings and providing technical feasibility feedback
- Build and maintain effective vendor relationships, negotiating costs and aesthetic changes while preserving design intent
- Manage critical path from concept to pre-production, ensuring deadlines are met and prototype issues are resolved
- Deliver prototypes and samples on schedule, to quality standards, and within target cost range to achieve margin objectives
- Ensure product functionality, consistency, and standardisation to confirm products are fit for purpose for customer, brand, and business
- Collaborate with Product Engineering teams on product testing and technical requirements, negotiating changes to protect design vision
- Support production meetings and vendor follow-ups, managing technical requirements for prototypes and samples
- Coach and develop Product Development Assistants
- Maintain 100% accuracy in PLM system documentation
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of fashion and childrenswear products, including trends, market positioning, and luxury consumer awareness
- Proven ability to work in partnership with senior creative professionals and translate design vision
- Demonstrated technical capability and product knowledge with ability to influence design teams
- Experience managing vendor relationships with clear brief delivery and relationship leveraging
- Experience working on-site with vendors and operational knowledge of factory environments
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with credibility across functions
- Commercial awareness and budget management capability
- Computer proficiency in PLM, Excel, and InDesign

Experience
Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships, working on site with factories, and understanding production processes. Experience working within budget parameters with commercial awareness of product costing. Prior exposure to childrenswear or relevant apparel category required.
